Loop 101 Ongoing Restrictions

Lane restrictions are ongoing at the following locations for bridge work.

At the 51st and 35th avenue interchanges:

All on- and off-ramps will be narrowed to one lane The left lane turn for both east- and westbound on-ramps will be narrowed to one lane 51st and 35th avenues will be narrowed to one lane under Loop 101 At the 31st Avenue interchange:

The 31st Avenue shoulders will be closed under Loop 101. Pedestrian access is still available. The east- and westbound frontage roads (Beardsley Road) will be narrowed to one lane between 31st and 51st avenues.

Trader Joe’s relocates

The very popular grocery chain moved to their new location and is open for business. Their new store is located in the Best Buy shopping center, at 8078 W Bell Rd, Glendale, AZ 85308. (map)

Tavern Park at P83

In mid-November, there were several stories in the news with quotes from its owner, about Tavern Park at P83, touting its unique set up of sports bar, nightclub & indoor park all wrapped into one. Despite all the hype in the press, it sure doesn’t appear as though anything is happening in the way of construction. The only thing different at the property this week, from when I visited in May, is their promo banner is falling down. link)

Geminid Meteor Shower Peaks This Weekend

The annual meteor shower will be visible, with the best chance to see them late Saturday night & early Sunday morning. (link)
