Loop 101 frontage road restrictions

The right lane will be closed on northbound 59th Avenue at Loop 101, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily from Monday, March 17, through Friday, March 21.

Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) frontage road closures March 24-26

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) advises drivers to plan for the following Loop 101 frontage road closures for rescheduled paving work that is part of the Loop 101, 75th Avenue to I-17 widening project:

Beardsley Road (frontage road) will be closed daily, from midnight to 11:59 p.m. (24 hours) the following days and locations: March 24: Westbound between 59th and 67th avenues March 25: Westbound between 67th and 75th avenues March 26: Eastbound between 75th and 73rd avenues Note: All Loop 101 on- and off-ramps will remain open.

Lane restrictions on 59th Avenue at Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) March 17-21

ONGOING RESTRICTIONS

Lane restrictions are ongoing at the following locations for bridge work and frontage road improvements.

At the 51st and 35th avenue interchanges:

All on- and off-ramps will be narrowed to one lane The left-turn lane for both east- and westbound on-ramps will be narrowed to one lane 51st and 35th avenues will be narrowed to one lane under Loop 101 At the 31st Avenue interchange:

The 31st Avenue shoulders will be closed under Loop 101. Pedestrian access is still available. Frontage roads:

The east- and westbound frontage roads (Beardsley Road) will be narrowed to one lane throughout the project area. The frontage road improvements are expected to be completed in early- to mid-March 2025.

Papa Murphy’s pizza has closed

The location of Papa Murphy’s Pizza at 59th Ave & Loop 101 has closed. A sign posted in thier window indicates this is a permanent closure.

~Saddleback Arizona, the new master planned community in North Peoria, recently broke ground and has sold almost 600 home lots to two separate homebuilders. Saddleback is located just south of the Carefree Highway, west of Lake Pleasant. (link)

Glendale Family Bike Ride

The City of Glendale is hosting the Family Bike Ride at 8 a.m. on April 6 in Sahuaro Ranch Park, on the corner of 59th Avenue and Mountain View Road. Riders can choose from three routes: short (7 miles), long (15 miles) or extended (23 miles), and refuel on snacks and water provided along the journey. (link)

Peoria’s new Women’s Premier Soccer League team now has an official name: Desert Dreams F.C. After receiving more than 500 name ideas submitted by local fans, the team narrowed it down to 10 potential team names for season ticket holders to vote on.
