I-17 Northbound Closure

Northbound I-17 will be closed at Jomax Road and then narrowed to one lane to Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9. The following ramp also will be closed nightly (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.) (link)

The driver of a Ford F-150 drove into the side of the Denny’s restaurant near 83rd Ave & Bell Road this past weekend. Be careful out there! (link)

Free admission at Arizona Science Center

The Arizona Science Center is offering free admission to all guests, regardless of age, on Saturday and Sunday, September 7th & 8th.

The museum, located in downtown Phoenix near 7th Street and Washington Street, features more than 300 exhibits, hands-on activities, demonstrations and a five-story theater. (link & map)

Arizona Cardinals begin their season

Football is back and the Arizona Cardinals begin their season this weekend, playing in Buffalo on Sunday. Their first home game will be next weekend on September 13th. (link)

Grand Canyon hotels reopen

Repairs to a vital waterline at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon have been completed and local hotels are once again open to overnight visitors. (link)
