WEATHER WATCH
It has been a very nice week weather wise, with that feeling of fall in the air in the mornings and afternoons that have been slightly less scorching.
As nice as it has been, I’m sure it will be a faux fall and we’ll still see some 100° days before fall arrives for good in late October.
That said, I’m a big fan of this forecast for the weekend!! 😲 🙌
COMMUNITY NEWS
Another I-17 restriction
Northbound I-17 narrowed to one lane between Loop 303 and State Route 74/Carefree Highway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 23) for pavement improvements. Northbound I-17 off- and on-ramps at Dove Valley Road closed. Detour: Allow extra travel time and consider traveling during early morning or nighttime when traffic is typically lighter. Note: The northbound I-17 circular ramp to westbound SR 74 is scheduled to be closed at night. (link)
75th Avenue Closure
Improvements to the medians along 75th Ave, north of Union Hills, will begin this weekend, and continue the following two weekends as well. Northbound lanes will be closed on September 21st & 22nd and 28th-29th. (link)
FOOD NEWS
Will these empty restaurants ever have new tenants?
If you have lived here in Arrowhead Ranch for very long, you may have noticed some locations that have sat vacant for a very long time.
There are three locations along the Bell Road corridor that are currently vacant, and I have to wonder if they will see a new occupant in the near future. (link)
Thirsty Lion to open soon at Westgate
Their new two-story Thirsty Lion location near Desert Diamond Arena & the Renassaince Hotel at Westgate is expected to open in early October. (link & map)

Fall Arizona Restaurant Week
Fall Arizona Restaurant Week is back! The multi-day event runs from September 20-29 and gives you an opportunity to try new restaurants, dishes, and exclusive menu offerings for a fraction of the usual costs. There are many participating restaurants in Glendale & Peoria. (link)
Jelly Roll to perform at Birds Nest
Country music star Jelly Roll is set to headline opening night of the 2025 Coors Light Birds Nest ahead of the WM Phoenix Open. Tickets go on sale September 24th. (link)
