Citrus Season is here

It is quickly approach the time of year when you start to hear ‘hey, want any grapefruit/oranges/lemons? I have thousands I won’t use.’

If you’re having trouble finding an outlet for your citrus, St. Mary’s Food Bank is accepting it. (link)

The Clubs at Arrowhead

Beginning on February 1st, The Legend at Arrowhead golf club & Arrowhead Country Club, will be known as The Clubs at Arrowhead. (link)

Loop 101 Lane Restrictions

The two left lanes of Loop 101 will be closed in each direction between 51st and 59th avenues from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1.

Ongoing restrictions: The westbound Loop 101 frontage road (Beardsley Road) between 33rd and 51st avenues and the eastbound frontage road between 33rd Avenue and I-17 will be narrowed to one lane through Feb. 7.(link)

EVENTS

WM Phoenix Open

The Waste Management Phoenix Open is next week, which means its time to get out and party at a golf course, and maybe watch some of the golf to. Many changes & upgrades have been implemented, be sure you know before you go. (link)

Mariokart Deluxe Event

Glendale Parks & Rec is hosting a Mariokart Deluxe Tournament, February 8th from 12-2p at the Glendale Community Center. (link)

Arizona Renaissance Festival

If you’re into turkey legs & knights jousting on horseback, you’ll love the Arizona Renaissance Festival. It begins February 1st and runs through March 31st. Yes, the location isn’t great for those of us in Arrowhead but it is worth the trip if you have never been. (link)

Sierra Verde Park

Renovations are underway at Sierra Verde Park near 71st Avenue & Rose Garden Lane. Some of the facilities are fenced off, however the playground is still open and available for use.

Many neighborhoods to the south of Union Hills have homes that were built in the 1970's, construction began in the 1980's here in Arrowhead.
